Simple and Clean by Hikaru Utada: What A Beautiful Trigger!

I have always loved music ever since dad put one of the Sharp stereo speakers at the bottom of my pram and softly played Walt Disney soundtracks and Beatles LPs. Guess he couldn’t sing!

Music is the language that unites the world. No matter where you are, we all love music. I love anything as long as there’s beauty or infectious rhythm. From Eminem to videogame soundtracks and everything in between.

One particular videogame musical score gets me every time I listen to it. A keen fan and player of the entire Kingdom Hearts franchise, I love the end credits song (below) from the first Kingdom Hearts game on the Playstation 2 in 2002. After an epic adventure you’re rewarded with Hikaru Utada’s hit song about insecurity. It causes me to think about my husband. How I feel when we’re apart and how his love for me causes me to no longer fear the future.

These lines I want tattooed on my arm:

Hold me
Whatever lies beyond this morning
Is a little later on
Regardless of warnings the future doesn’t scare me at all
Nothing’s like before
